Tarun was born on 8th January, 1983. His father is actor-director-producer B.Chakrapani and his mother is Rojamani, who also had a career in acting. His sister’s name is Amulya.Tarun studied in Chennai at the Venkata Subbarao Boys High school till the fifth class and then shifted to Hyderabad. Here he continued his education at Barathiya Vidya Bhavan.

As a child artist Tarun acted in the movie ‘Anjali’ in 1990 directed by the great Mani Ratnam.Praises poured in and he also won awards for it. International recognition as a child artist gave a great boost to his ambitions. Tarun acted as a child artist in as many as 17 movies in several languages. ‘Aditya 369,’ ‘Anjali’ and ‘Surya IPS’ are a few of his super hit childhood movies.

Then a Malayalam cinema ‘Abhayam’ by director Santosh Sivan fetched him national award. As it got nominated in 1993 for screening at the Fukuoka International film festival, Tarun did not miss his opportunity to fly to Japan.
Telugu film ‘Nuvve Kawali’ in the year 2000 launched this talent as a full time hero. It was produced by Ramoji Rao and directed by Vijayabhaskar. Other movies include ‘Nuvvuleka Neenulenu,’ ‘Nuvve Nuvve,’ ‘Priyamaina Neeku,’ ‘Sasirekha Parinayam, Bhale Dongalu,’ ‘Oka Oorilo’ and ‘Nava Vasantham.’ Chiranjeevi and Jackiechan are his favourite actors.
