Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ in Three Languages: Release on May 21

Mani Ratnam directed ‘Raavan’ starring Chiyan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachan in lead roles is expected for release on 21st May. The film will be released simultaneously in three languages - Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
‘Raavan’ is based on the great Indian epic Ramayana which tells the story of Rama, whose wife Sita is abducted by Raavana, the demon (Rakshasa) king of Lanka. It is said that the ‘Raavan’ will have a new twist on the Ramayana.
The film has been shot in numerous locations from the forests of Kerala, Ooty, Jhansi, Kolkata, and in Maharashtra at Mahabaleshwari and in the Malshej Ghats
Music is composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Cinematography is done by Santosh Shivan and Manikandan, and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
Big Cinemas and Madras Talkies will be jointly distributing the film.
